Core Values: Compassion, Integrity, Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility.
School Policies
At John Bassett Moore Intermediate School each member of our staff is committed to providing all children with a rewarding educational experience.  Utilizing the various resources and facilities available to our students, we’ll make unlimited attempts to serve the individual needs of each child at JBM.  Ultimately, as our Vision Statement attests, we will strive to provide a safe, friendly, well-structured learning environment where students are aware of the purpose and value of an education.
Our daily instruction is enhanced and strengthened with recognition of the Smyrna School District’s Community Core Values.  The core values are respect, responsibility, perseverance, integrity and compassion.  These values and appropriate moral behavior are constantly reinforced through our established Positive Behavior Support program and daily teachings.  Thus, in addition to providing traditional academic experiences, we routinely strive to teach our students how to live ethical, principle-based lives at JBM.
At John Bassett Moore Intermediate School we recognize our parents’ value and their impact upon the learning process.  With this belief we highly encourage your active participation in your child’s schooling experience.  Daily communication with your child and supervision of homework is highly recommended in an effort to maximize your child’s education.  Another avenue of involvement is our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).  Our PTO will meet on the second Monday of each month this upcoming school year.  Our meetings will begin at 5:00 pm in our historic library.
